LIVE BUILD
At the beginning of my second year of architecture there was a brief set by the Dartington Hall Trust, enlisting students of Plymouth University to create a shelter that could be erected on their campsite as a seasonal shelter. Design groups were a combination of second and third year students, after a week the designs were proposed and the 'Big Tent' was the winning design.
Students from third year completed the planning applications whilst second year students were tasked with building the tend in a week long construction period. During this period our group of second years were given the task of building the flooring system and to begin the construction of the roof beams.
